		<abstract>This paper describes some methodologies used for select the best combination of 3 spectral bands of TM-LANDSAT for image classification in the Amazon region. The mean vector, the covariance and correlation matrices, the entropy and the histogram of each class are the parameters used do make the decision. The distance and divergence between the classes and the error probability for the maximum a priori probability classifier are calculated in order to make easy this decision.</abstract>
